Testimonials
“Talese has served as a mentor as well as a judge for our program for each of our semi-annual "Expos", where she interviews dozens of fashion students, confers with other industry judges, and chooses the winners of the competition. She has a wonderful, genuine and encouraging way with each and every student.”
– Martha Tonkin, Instructor: Marketing/DECA,
Fashion Merchandising, Photo, Web
“In the apparel design class I got the opportunity to learn about much more than just fashion design. We did so many fun and exciting projects that let me explore fashion even more. We also took some amazing field trips to see what a real career in the industry was like.” – Sam, Age 16
“I first met Talese when I was in one of her teen programs. It was an 18-week fashion class, and I had a great time and learned a lot. Talese always has the kinds of classes that are very challenging but there's always just enough help to make sure that things get done, and it's not so hard that people give up.” – Kara, Age 19
“Talese came to Whitman Middle School's Community Learning Center in the Winter of 2009. She has taught Urban Design, Mixed Media and Fashion Design art classes here. The students adore her. Talese is always full of energy and love for the students and their artistic abilities, whatever they may be. Whitman Community Learning Center is honored to have Talese as returning staff this year and hope that she continues to have raving success with students and staff alike here at Whitman Middle School.”
