Play Club & After School Care

Art Club

After School Care art class

Play Club and After School Care art classes are taught 3 days a week and are ongoing throughout the year. Young artists create projects with specific themes and studies. Talese introduces nature, the animal kingdom and music into her art curriculum as well as teaching techniques in drawing, painting and mixed media. Her classes are well attended with positive feedback and accolades from families in the community.

Testimonials

“Talese is not only a talented artist herself, but she knows how to relate to kids of all ages to inspire their creative instincts while having fun. She is patient, kind and supportive. My kids adored her and I credit her for helping to instill an early interest in art. Her projects challenge the kid's creative abilities with innovative art projects that involve non-traditional media such as hubcaps, masks, panoramic boxes, and dramatic interpretation as well as introduce the kids to presentation skills, and basic art principles of color and balance.”  – Linda R., Parent of Alki Community Center art program student

“Talese has been bringing art to our Alki Community Center after-school program for 5 years now. She has taught the kids fashion, media and everything in between. The parents, students and staff all look forward to the exciting programs she brings us. The new ideas and projects she presents provide a diverse approach to art. Her ideas are always fresh, fun and the end product is always a hit with the parents.”  – Jill Peterson, Child Care Director After School Care Program

“Talese has brought art to our pre-school in a way I have never seen duplicated. She teaches the children art techniques and art history in a way they can relate to; she tells them a story about the projects or artist to which they will be relating their art project. She introduces her class to art tools that are of professional quality, and the children explore the art techniques they have been introduced to, producing amazing results. Our parents are delighted with the results of their children’s art exploration, and the children beam with their success and confidence as artists. Talese is brilliant.”
